CHILIKA SHELDUCK INTERNATIONAL FOLK ART FESTIVAL

Experiential Festival at ODI ART Centre

November 24-29, 2023

The five-day-long CHILIKA SHELDUCK INTERNATIONAL FOLK ART CARNIVAL  commemorating the cultural diversity of the people through MYTH, MIGRATION & MODERNITY. This experiential festival at ODI ART Centre involves traditional artists from India and other countries to interact with the audience and establish a network of their market connections. The visitors have an opportunity to learn more about the diverse cultures and arts through the various workshops during the carnival, including museum visit, heritage education, storytelling session and local culinary culture.

The Chilika Shelduck International Folk Art Carnival aims to preserve and promote cultural heritage, work towards its integration with society, and contribute to the cultural economy of the state.

The Odi Art Centre, which houses the Purvasha Folk and Tribal Art Museum was inaugurated by Sh. Naveen Patnaik, Hon. Chief Minister of Odisha in 2017. The museum was built with financial assistance from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India and the artifacts were partly sponsored by Department of Tourism, Government of Odisha.
