ODI ART

Tribal Gallery
The wall mural of Lanjia Soura tribe of Rayagada district of Odisha is popularly known as Soura or Saura or Sora painting. Saura paintings are known for their simple forms and figures that come together to compose intricate narratives in very few colors. They frequently represent tribal deities, animals, and natural elements, symbolizing the tribe’s adoration for the environment and their deities. The paintings also emphasize the symbiotic relationship that exists between humans and nature. They are traditionally made on the red or brown clay walls of the homes of the villagers.
